AAC

AACis Augmentative and Alternative Communication, is different ways of communication to help our pupils. 

AAC can be anything from gestures and eyepointing to communication books and PECS to  switches and iPad apps.

We use many forms of AAC at Oak View:

  • Communication books 
  • Communication boards
  • Symbols or photographs
  • PECS
  • Ipad Apps (eg: proloquo2go)
  • Now and next boards
  • Visual time timetables
  • Work systems
  • Makton signing
  • Eye pointing
  • Objects of reference
  • Interpreting body language and expressions
